Do you kno about the royal ballet school? Have you ever been?

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering about the Royal Ballet School?

You don't have to answer every single question... but whatever you can would be great!

I am 5 ft. 3 with long legs. I am skinny and take 20-25 hours worth of training a week. I took pictures of myself and sent it to the r.b.s. What do they mainly look for? Does everyone find out whether they got in or not? When do your results usually come in for accepotance into their summer session?

HELP!!!

Thank you very much!

i'm not sure what they look for exactly but all of the dancers on their site look very tall and lean so i would imagine thats what they look for. in most ballet schools everyone finds out if they got in or not: its common curtosy. acceptance is usually told at different times depending on the school. it could be a week or it could be a month after auditions

good luck on getting in :]

hi! the latest is that boys are needing to be around 6'2 so if you imagine girls would need to be 5'9 to match their height.

5'3 is way to small to be considered for the Royal Ballet, sorry,

I went to the BRB school when i was little, had physio every wk and was told at age 9 that i'd never be the right height or shape.... i am not!! they look for bone structure, height, flexibility of joints and muscles and of course talent.

However i don't know about summer schools and there are other company's, especially contempory, that take shorter dancers.

do u still have growing to do?

if you want to dance then go for it, practice, build up muscle strength, and go to lots of audiotions for a variety of schools and courses. Good luck.
I do not know to much about it, but what I do know is that they are VERY pickey. They look for the absolute best possible dancers as those are the ones that will become famous stage performers. As long as you have poise, grace and natural talent, then you should be fine.
