k, i took a while learning to do my bun too. :)) k, it also depends on the type of hair you have.. long, short, wavy, thin, thick... but the first step is always putting it in a ponytail. it can be like right at the back of your head. not on top or on the bottom(but once yove mastered the original you can experiment a lil further). k, then you make sure it will hold by bouncing around , shaking it etc... if it isnt, just add a few or another scrunchie. k, if you dont want it to be flailing around everywhere when your doing it or dancing, you can add another scrunchie like halfway down the braid, um.. kinda like an hourglass... k, so then, take the ponytail and twist it tight, then wrap it around the base of the ponytail(where the scrunchies are). so it should look somewhat like a bun by now. hold it in place with one hand, and with the other grab the bobbypins, one by ine,( usually big pins work better if you have longer/ thicker hair and small ones if you have fine hair) k, just pin the bobby pins so they hold the bun tightly in place. k, when you think you put enough in, jump around and shake it a bit to double check that it is in place. if its not good, add a few more pins in the loose places. if it is good, you can put on a hair net around the bun to keep strays from fallin out. and on top of the net you can pt on a scrunchie so nothing falls out or off and is secure. no hair jel or spray is needed!!

hope this helps!!

use big pins, not little ones. make a tight ponytale in the middle, not low, and braid it first. then twist it around and put a lot of pins in, make sure you use a hairnet, two if you need them, and for extra hold use a scrunchie, why don't you ask your mom who does it now?
I suggest that first, you put you hair in a ponytail. But make sure that it's not too high or too low. Then, you can either twist or braid your hair, then wrap it around your ponytail. Make sure that you have bobby pins on hand so you don't have to start over. The first place that you should put a bobby pin is at the end of you hair. After that, just place bobby pins in places that feel loose a wobbly. If you want a net or anything, then only put in a few bobby pins, then put in the net, then put in some more. I sure hope that this was useful! =)
1. Put it in a medium height pony

2. smooth gel/mousse all over untill you have no frizzy bits etc.

3. Take the pony out and brush it into an even tighter pony

4. plait the hair

5. twist it round

6. secure with a bobble to keep it in place whilst you do the pins

7. secure it with pins and grips until you feel it will not fall out

8. hairnet

9. hairspray

My hair geos through the torture regularly =P hope i helped honey x
Tie your hair in a braid then twril your tail into a bun. Wear a hair net and secure it with pins. Use hair spray for any fuzzy hair left
For class:

Start with the low ponytail, make it as tight to your head as possible. Twist the tail itself, it will naturally double back around the elastic band. Hold it with one hand, and put a knitted bun cover over it with the other. (A bun cover is a knitted circle gathered back on a ponytail band). Then, use the BIG bobby pins (we really like 'Bun Heads') to secure it THROUGH the bun cover, and into the elastic you used for the original ponytail. Getting those pins into the elastic really helps keep them secure.

For Recital:

Same process, but instead of the bun cover, you'll use a hairnet. These are just too fragile for everyday, which is why we use the bun covers. Double up the hairnet (twist it so that the elastic edge makes an 8 and fold it -- two circles of elastic and one 'pouch'). Anchor it securely with those same big pins.

NOTE: Dirty hair (yuck) is easier to put up. The natural oil helps to make strands stick together.
