I agree, just keep taking lessons and practicing outside of class as well. Don't forget that ballet takes patience and can't be learned quickly.
stretch the point of youre feet

sit on the ground with your legs straight out in front of you, then have a friend push down on your feet, so you get a good pointed stretch

be careful though, dont hurt your feet
From experience, I would say go to class focused and ready to learn. Focus on your barre work and think about how you are executing it. Barre work is the basic movements of ballet. By focusing on perfecting your work at the barre, your technique should improve.

But don't just focus on you barre work, focus also on your center work and anything you may do across the floor. Ask yourself, "How can I improve this?" It may be as simple as just pulling yourself up, engaging your abs, or turning your leg out.

It also helps to be open to any advice your teacher may give. By being open you are allowing yourself to learn and grow as a dancer.

Be patient, it takes time, but it is worth it!
Take as many ballet classes as you possibly can and practice and STRECH at home. Good luck!
I am ur age and i have been dancing for 10 yrs and the only way i have improved was to go to the clases and work very hard at the barre and to remember all of the names of the positions and moves. Also rember answer questions ur teacher asks during class it helps ur teacher know ur dedicated good luck ttyl
It can be boring, tiering and you might think it's pointless.

But practice. When you're at home watching TV or on the computer just stand up and practice a bit, do some stretches or flex your muscles and point your feet. You may not see improvements straight away, but it's those little bits that add up.

I'm 13 and have done ballet for 6months also. Slowly getting better =]
well, first, there are some basic exercises that you should do every day.

-releves. You probably already know what they are. If not, ask your teacher. (teachers love it when you ask them questions about ballet, they want to teach you as much as possible) do them every day, increasing every week. When you're bored do releves.

-do crunches every day. Sit ups and crunches improve your abs and core, which is the fundamental for dancing. You will be able to lift your leg higher and dance better. you will have so much more control.

-pilates and yoga are good for stability, flexibility, and core training. Consider taking a class, it is so important.

check out books on amazon, such as Classical Ballet Technique. You should find lots of excercises and information about whether you are doing a step correctly. You can also learn the names of the steps and progress faster.

you sound really dedicated, I wish you luck
