you're probably going to have to take classes with the little kids unless you find an adult ballet class.

Hi, I'm also fourteen years old. I love dancing! Try looking in the phone book under "Dance" or even search the web for dance studios in your area. Most studios offer ballet classes. Good luck!
Go on to a search engine like Google and type in Dance offered in Maryland/DC. IT should bring you up to a bunch of different studios.

And don't worry about your first class. Usually the teacher will take it easy on you for the first couple of weeks. Then once you start to get to know things better, he/she will get thougher on you.
I started late too, actually, when I was 11 or 12. If you want to do it, go ahead. It'll be great. Just to let you know, there's a lot of commitment if you want to take it far, so you'll want to find a ballet conservatory or something if you want that. If it's a supplement to other dancing or just for fun, most studios offer ok classes at a reasonable price. When you do get put in, it'll probably be with slightly younger kids, but you'll probably advance really fast, so don't worry about being embarrassed too much. Have fun!
