(the second girl has short hair)
put it in a ponytail then twist it around the hair tie then secure it with two other hair things- easy!
1) Put your hair in a pony tail (depending on the height you want your bun, high, or low)

2) Wrap it around the base of the ponytail so it looks like a bun.

3) Secure it with hairpins by catching some of the hair on your scalp (not in the ponytail) and some in the bun (in the ponytail) and push it into the bun.

4) When it is secure enough that you can let go without it falling down, but a hairnet over it, and repeat step #3 while catching part of the hairnet in the hair too.

5) You're done! I find it helpful to put a bun clip over mine (it catches up loose ends) make sure that the bun is secure because if you are a serious dancer, you will be doing lots of turns, with spotting.
i would try what is called a hair-o-gami. its kind of like a snap braclet except for your hair. directions are included with product. im not sure if it works with short hair. i guess it depends what your calling "short".

hope this helps!
